Overview

The purpose of the Project is to upgrade the sewerage collection, treatment and disposal facilities in Cheung Chau in order to cater for the projected ultimate population and planned developments in Cheung Chau to meet the increased demand and to achieve more stringent effluent quality standards.

Cheung Chau Sewage Treatment Works (CCSTW)
The existing Cheung Chau Sewage Treatment Works was commissioned in 1985. Currently, CCSTW performs primary sewage treatment with a design capacity of 4000m³/day. Upon completion of the Project, the treatment standard will be upgraded to a secondary level. Concurrently, the capacity will be upgraded to 9,800 m³/day, serving around 38,200 population in Cheung Chau.

Pak She Sewage Pumping Station (PSSPS)
The existing Pak She Sewage Pumping Station, which was commissioned in 1985. The existing pumping capacity is 29,376 m³ /day. Upon completion of the Project, the pumping capacity would be increased around 50%..
